Cars are more profitable to government

Re: “Vital piece: Your new editorial on this subject, is treading on the same tracks as many previous scribes.

Our B.C. Governments have decided what income from various taxes pays off for them, and it seems the most profitable is the motor vehicle so an improved highway that will carry more cars is the correct answer.

The decrepit rail system, if upgraded will cost many millions of dollars, plus many months to overhaul: (reader what would you do, were you of the treasury?).

The renovation could be started modestly at the Victoria end manufacturing concrete uprights for a monorail, while excavation of the old site takes place, whatever design for the upgraded system should be going on now, not when the highway is completed!

Excuses galore over the many years to not to do anything have run their course; I’m sure that our MLA will agree?
