Fossil fuels gave Thunberg the future she enjoys

In a letter Sue Page has heaped praise on an admirable young lady from Sweden for her stand on what she sees as an emergency. (“3 cheers for the Greta Thunbergs of the world”)

She certainly deserves a lot of credit for standing up for what she believes, but I think she should have been a little more respectful when addressing the United Nations.

She is quoted as saying, “your generation and the one before have stolen our childhood” unquote.

I must take the time to remember her words when I attend the memorial services on Nov. 11 when I also remember all the young Canadian soldiers who died in the Second World War that saw the end of the Nazi occupation in Sweden.

The fossil fuel that was used to propel aircraft, ships, tanks etc. was well spent to give her the “future” she is enjoying.
