Defacing signs doesn’t change anyone’s mind

As I travelled to my polling place today I was shocked to see that two political signs had been defaced, one with black spray paint off the Black Bridge in Duncan, and one at Government/Gibbins traffic circle that had been completely removed, leaving only the supporting stand.

Although the ruined signs didn’t belong to a party of my choice, it was heartbreaking to me that someone could be so ignorant and cruel not to understand that we live in a country where free speech is the rule of law. We are free to vote for our choice of candidates who belong to different parties. The candidates give us the information we need in order to make our choices. Defacing someone’s signs does absolutely nothing to change our minds.
