Cyclist saved from heat exhaustion on Circle Route
Hearty thank you to Lars and his wife from Victoria who stopped to assist me when my ebike battery died on Sunday.
Was 25 kilometres from Mesachie Lake on the Pacific Marine route and was at times having to walk while pushing a heavy bike uphill. Was given water but declined further assistance. A hearty thank you as well to another couple who stopped five minutes later inquiring about my well being and they too gave me water. I began my ride at 9:30 and was under an unrelenting sun and close to heat exhaustion.
Then Lars and his wife came back! I couldn’t refuse their assistance a second time and my bike was loaded into their mini van. I had been on the road for eight and a half hours, but it would’ve been over 11 without their help. Thank you so very much for coming back and saving me from heat exhaustion!
