Cut down all trees near power lines

Re: “Are we ready”, (Citizen, Jan. 16)

One important way we can be ready is to remove all trees along the roadways within a certain distance from power lines.

It appears from this latest windstorm and other minor windstorms in the past, the annual pruning of trees is not sufficient and almost a complete waste of money and resources as they only grow back in following years.

Sell the logs for lumber or firewood to cover some of the costs of removal. And there will be other savings in the future as it will lead to fewer power outages.
