Attention election candidates

Cowichan Valley Citizen invites candidates to send in information

Cowichan Valley residents will go to the polls on Oct. 15 to elect members of local governments and a school board.

The Cowichan Valley Citizen will be bringing you coverage of the issues and candidates in the runup to the election. There are numerous races in our area — Cowichan Valley Regional District, City of Duncan, Municipality of North Cowichan, Town of Lake Cowichan and school board — and we expect multiple candidates for each post.

To help us out, we are asking anyone running for office to please send in a notification with a brief description of who they are, and what their main issues are, along with a photograph, so that we can let our readers know a little about you before they go to mark their ballots. Submissions should be sent to editor@cowichanvalleycitizen.com

Due to space constraints, only those running for mayor of the three municipalities will be guaranteed to have their profiles placed in our print edition, while everyone else will be featured in our online edition. To that end, check out the new section on our website for Election 2022 for all of the latest.

All candidates will also be featured in our voter’s guide, which will be published in print prior to Oct. 15.

Candidates interested in appearing in print and online through advertising should contact our publisher, David van Deventer at david.vandeventer@blackpress.ca.
