A lot of us don’t want to pay for subsidized daycare

Re: Taxpayers should be happy they are helping children

Everyone has their own ideas about daycare. The politicians who tax us into oblivion (42 per cent plus) have been creating the problem for years. What does that point to? Well it points to improper taxation the level of which determines how we get through life with little, or a lot of problems.

One heck of a lot of us don’t want to pay for subsidized daycare, because it will only raise our taxes. My family as an example, took a day job and night job so the children were always taken care of by a family member.

You can draw examples of single parents, etc. but in the end it is a minority of people who are living with that.

Thanks to the level of taxation, people are suffering period, adding to the level only perpetuates the problem. The government should be dropping the level of taxation and un-needed services to produce a more energetic, and productive economy — the circle of taxation and wages — is endless unless the government does something about it, not — I took your cash and created a problem, now I’m fixing the problem by taxing you more and then giving it back — aren’t we marvellous!

The fact that I mentioned a “minority” also points to the fact that we live within what is supposed to be a democracy — not a socialist — society. If you were to get subsidized daycare you should count yourself extremely fortunate, not suggest that someone with a different opinion should feel a certain way. Being offended doesn’t do anything — you are just offended — it does not mean Joe has not got a right to his opinion.
