April 28, 1941 – September 26, 2009

It is with great sadness we announce that our father and granddad passed away peacefully at Cairnsmore Place, Duncan, BC on Saturday, September 26, 2009 at the age of 68. Wayne was born on April 28, 1941 to Jack and Irene Roach in Victoria, BC and lived his adult life on Walton Road in Honeymoon Bay, BC.

Wayne will be mourned by his loving family; son Dwayne and wife Roni-Lee and grandchildren Brandon and Jaclyn Roach of Lake Cowichan; son Dale and wife Michelle Roach of Calgary; his faithful dog and companion Jack Russell; sister Sylvia Roach of Calgary; brother Bruce Roach of Calgary. He will also be sadly missed by his dearest Aunt June of Honeymoon Bay; former wife Sandra and her husband Ron Smith of Nanaimo; cousins, George, Jim, and Carol Roach and Cliff Baird; and many friends.

His dry sarcasm and quick wit will be missed by those who knew him. Wayne was well known for his hunting and fishing and love for the great outdoors. He was a volunteer fire fighter for the Honeymoon Bay Department for many years.

The family would like to thank Dr. Postuk for caring for our Dad and Granddad and a special thanks to Connie and Sharon at CDH for keeping him company during his weekly ‘juice-up” sessions over the last few years of his life.

A memorial service for Wayne will be held at Lake Cowichan Christian Fellowship Church (Gospel Lighthouse), 57 King George S., Lake Cowichan, BC on Saturday, October 03, 2009 at 11:00 am. A reception will be held following the service. If wishing, donations in memory of Wayne can be made to the Crohn’s Foundation, 600 - 60 St. Clair Avenue East, Toronto, ON M4T 1N5. Arrangements entrusted to the Sands Funeral Chapel in Duncan.
