Stella passed away peacefully at aged 92, at the Sunshine Lodge where she had resided since 2002. Stella will be greatly missed by her three children Brien (Pennie), Della (Henry) Beaupre, Calvin (Marilyn) as well as 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Preddeceased by her husband Ralph in 1982, her parents Alvin and Sara Anderson, and her two brothers Douglas and Howard Anderson. Stella was born in Victoria however moved to Richardson, Saskatchewan early in her life after the sudden death of her mother in 1918. Stella lived on her Aunt’s and Uncle’s (Roger) farm till 1929 when they moved back to Victoria. It was in Victoria Stella met her future husband Ralph Liebel. Stella and Ralph were married in Belmont, Washington on November 12, 1936. While in Victoria, Ralph worked at the Blue Bird Bus Lines while Stella cared for their first two children Brien and Della. A move to Nanaimo in 1942 saw the family increased to three with the arrival of the third child Calvin in 1945. Forming his own company in 1943 (Reliable Logging) Ralph and Stella moved to Lake Cowichan in the spring of 1948. Lake Cowichan would be home to the Liebel’s till 1964 when Ralph and Stella moved to Courtenay. Stella’s last move in 1978 was to Campbell River where she called home till her passing. Stella touched the lives of many over the years and lived a full and wonderful life; although she has left us we will always remember her, in our hearts. The family would like to thank the staff of Sunshine Lodge for all the kindness and care they offered Stella over the years. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 29, 2005 at the Elk Falls Crematorium and Memorial Chapel, Elk Falls Cemetery, Hwy # 28 at General Hill, Campbell River.
