Sophie was born in Canora, Saskatchewan, March 1, 1923 and died in Cowichan District Hospital on July 19, 2006.
She is survived by her husband, John; three children: Richard, John, Candice as well as 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Sophie was the youngest of 10 children of which one sister still remains and lives in Ontario. Sophie will be fondly remembered for her kind hospitality and generosity to others. She was an active member of the Lake Cowichan Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses for the past 34 years and has helped many to gain accurate Bible understanding. One such belief is that she along with billions of others will be resurrected back to earth when Jehovah God’s Kingdom entrusted to Jesus Christ will re-establish paradise conditions free from the effects of sin, suffering and death. (Rev. 21:3,4). The family would like to thank Dr. Postuk, Dr. Froese, Cowichan Home Support, and the many nurses and Doctors of the Cowichan District Hospital who so tenderly and professionally cared for Sophie over these many years.
