Passed away peacefully at “Nana’s Place” on Saturday, August 29, 2009. Born January 20, 1929 in Parkland, Alberta. Predeceased by his wife Nancy after 38 years of marriage, also brothers Vern, Pat and Bud. Survived by his only child Terri (Jug); granddaughter Christy (Khris); grandson Ryan; three great grandchildren Alexa, Dylan and Scottie; brother Len (Ida); sister Bev and many nieces and nephews.

Rex spent most of his adult life in Lake Cowichan, arriving when he was 18 years old, where he lived with his brother Bud (Rene). In 1952 he married Nancy and in 1954 Terri was born. All his life Rex was a logger, as a part of Weaver Brothers Logging, then eventually BCFP and Fletcher Challenge until he retired.

Rex’s guitar playing and singing were appreciated by all. He enjoyed golf, darts, bridge and pool. He was a long time member of the Elks and Legion.

Rex will be remembered and loved by Terri, Jug, Christy and Ryan for all the years they had together.

His family would like to thank the loving staff at Nana’s Place for their kindness and full time care. Thanks also to Dr. Postuk for his years of caring for Rex.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, September 11, 2009 at 2 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 210, Lake Cowichan.
