We are saddened to share the news of mom's passing in Duncan BC on May 24th, 2025.
Born to parents Elmore (Pat) Parker and Constance (Connie) Parker on March 11, 1926, Pat was predeceased by her loving husband of 55 years, Wilfrid, and brothers Marvin and Lenord.
Mom is survived by her brother Clifford (Dianne) Parker, as well as her children, Manzanita Snow, Alice (Jack) Newton, Janet Raymond (Darrell), Roger Raymond, Rachelle (Pete) Westman, 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She will also be missed by her nephew and kindred spirit Doug Parker, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A 5th generation islander born in Colwood BC, mom was a true salt of the earth, she lived her life to the fullest and with few regrets. As a child she attended Colwood school before continuing her education at Victoria High School. She met our Dad while he was stationed at the army camp at Albert Head during the Second World War. They thereafter married and settled in the Colwood area where they raised their children. Upon retirement Mom and Dad sold the family home and moved to Lake Cowichan where they resided until their passing.
Mom was a proud life member of the Royal Canadian Legion where she held many volunteer positions over the years. She loved kids (especially teens), genealogy, collecting bottles, beachcombing, gardening, playing crib, casinos, Nascar, dogs, jigsaw puzzles, hockey, "The Price is Right", Canada's Amazing Race, and a cold beer over a lively conversation with family and friends.
Special thanks to Dr. Basily, the Palliative care team, and all who lovingly cared for mom in her remaining days. We didn't know that there were angels on earth until we met you!
