February 25, 1918 - June 20, 2021
It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Minnie. She was born on February 25th in Calgary, Alta. Was raised there, was married and had three children, Ken, Beverly and Sharon who were also raised in Calgary. Minnie was mainly a stay at home mom. Always busy making meals, cleaning house, doing laundry and when she had some spare time she was an excellent seamstress cutting out a pattern to make something for on of the kids. When the children left home she found other things to do. She was an avid bowler and curler and was very good at both. In later years she started playing Bingo at the Ramsay Community Centre and also volunteered making sandwiches and whatever else was needed.
In her 70's she moved to Duncan on Vancouver Island where her daughter and husband lived. She became involved in Volunteering at the O.A.P. she got to meet many of the ladies in Silver Park where she lived and went on many bus trips for the Seniors. They saw most of the places all over the island. She then continued to travel to the States with her daughter and son-in-law which included San Francisco, Disneyland and Las Vegas. Lastly she was quite happy just going to feed the ducks.
Minnie led a full life and was able to stay in her home until after her 100th birthday. She passed away at Cairnsmore Place on June 29th.
Would like to give a special thank you to the Nurses and Staff for the excellent care of Minnie.
