Dillen, Milton Charles passed away peacefully September 17,2003 at his home with his family at his side. Milt was born March 8,1924 in Hazenmore, SK and is survived by Ada, his wife of 58 years ; his children Carol (Ernie) Linden of Comox, Judy (Gary) Schan and Kathy (Peter) Sevigny of Port Alberni; grandchildren Gwen and John Webb, Denise (Mike) Carter, Michelle (Blaine) Cyr , Mike (Paola) Schan, Marty Schan, Rachelle and Nicole Sevigny. Great Grandchildren Devon, Elise, Ashley, Jessica, Dayle, Melissa, Jared and Alyssa. Also survived by his sister, Anna Kriston of Regina, SK and many nieces and nephews.Predeceased by his parents Helena and Joseph Henry Dillen and siblings Otillia, Mary, Theresa, Joseph, Elizabeth, Frank, Genevieve, and Leo. After serving in WWll, Milt spent many years working in the logging industry beginning in Honeymoon Bay and later moving to Lake Cowichan before the family moved to Port Alberni in 1961. Milt plied his skill at every position in the logging show, but was primarily known as a high rigger, rigging slinger and a faller. While in Lake Cowichan, Milt was involved with the Co-op and was a favourite Bingo caller at the Community Club.Upon retirement from the woods, Milt began commercial prawn fishing. He was a respected figure on the waterfront and he valued the resource that provided his livelihood. He enjoyed the outdoors, family vacations and his annual hunting trip.Milt will be greatly missed by his family and friends. No service or flowers by request.
