Mabel died peacefully at Nanaimo General Hospital.
She was pre-deceased by her mother Rachel, father Jim and nephew Terry Bergstrom.
Mabel is survived by: her loving husband of 57 years, Al; sons David (Gail), Jim and Ken; grandchildren Tammy, Glenn and Brad; sisters Jean (Sam), Marie (Rune), Betty (Norman) and brother Bob (Doreen) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mabel was one of the original members of the executive of minor hockey in Lake Cowichan
and an ardent supporter of minor baseball.
She worked many years in the retail business.
A private family service was held in her memory.
