As well as giving back to her community by coordinating and attending many fundraisers for people in need. Kristal and Dustin had the honor of receiving the Nichole Stock Community Service Award in 2015.
Kristal was the type of friend who would give you the shirt off her back. She literally opened her home to several friends who needed a place to stay, whether it be for a night or a year, there was always a place to stay and a meal on the table. Kristal always went out of her way to help those in need.
Kristal's greatest joy was being a mother to her dearest Kourt Kourt, and the time they spent together was truly precious. She has always had a special connection with Port Renfrew and loved spending time there with her family and friends. Before Kourtlynn, Kristals proudest achievement was becoming Lady of the Lake in 1999. Kristal was a dedicated Laker who loved living and working in the same community she was raised in. Kristal worked at RBC for 15 years becoming the assistant branch manager in Lake Cowichan and recently winning The RBC Conference Award for outstanding work and dedication.
Kristal also won a RBC Leo award for outstanding service this year, there is only 5 Leo awards handed out in the province each year.
Kristal wanted to thank all the doctor's, nurses and care aids at CDH, VGH and BC Cancer Agency for going over and above with the care she received, she truly felt special.
Dr. Masuda your gift of patience and understanding gave Kristal peace at a time when there was little. Dr. Froese we couldn't have done this without you. You were available to us night and day 7 days a week, not many doctor's would call on Christmas Eve to check in on a patient. You are a wonderful man.
A celebration of life is being planned hopefully for February.
