NEIL, James – Born February 23, 1927 in Ayr, Scotland. Passed away suddenly but peacefully December 4, 2003.
Lovingly remembered by his wife Olive of 50 years, daughters; Andrea (Barry) Toporowski (Duncan), Linda Kernachan (Dan Lytton) (Sheridan Lake), grandchildren; Neil & Darcie Kernachan (100 Mile House), Brad & Tatum Toporowski (Duncan), sister Sheila and niece Christina in Scotland and son-in-law Butch Kernachan. Jim served with the Royal British Navy and the Merchant Navy. He worked as a Steam Engineer in Sardis (Dairyland Plant), in Port Alice pulp mill from 1968-1978 eventually becoming assistant Chief Engineer, moving to Honeymoon Bay as Chief Engineer until the mills closing. He retired at his favorite house by the Lake in Youbou, BC.
A Memorial Service was held at Sands Funeral Chapel, 187 Trunk Road, Duncan, BC on Thursday, December 11, 2003 at 1:00 pm. Reverend Terry Finch officiating. Donations may be made in memory of Jim to a charity of your choice.
