Ina Diane Chappell

Chappell, Ina Diane (nee Standefor) after a courageous battle with cancer on February 11, 2003 with family at her side. Born in Wetaskiwin, Alberta on May 28,1913 and moved to Edmonton in 1925 where she completed her education and began her working career. On March 16, 1940 she married Corp. William Chappell and daughter Corinne was later born at Edmonton’s University hospital.

Bill served in World War II until 1945 and the family then moved to Lake Cowichan where Bill was the Clerk Administrator for 30 years. During this time, Ina was very involved in her community being Past Worthy Matron of the Cypress Chapter of OES, founding member of the March Meadows Golf Club and later the Cowichan Valley Arts Council. Left to mourn Ina’s passing are her daughter Corinne, granddaughter Michelle and her husband Dr. Ken Lim, and great grandchildren Brendan and Ryan, all of Vancouver.

Also brother Raymond Standefor, sister-in-law Lorraine Chappell, nieces and nephews and many friends in Lake Cowichan and Duncan. The family wishes to thank the staff

of Cowichan Home Support, Mountain View Manor and Cowichan District Hospital. Special thanks also to Dr. Daphne Robinson, and many special friends in Duncan and Lake Cowichan.

A Celebration of Life is to be Saturday, March 22, 2003 at 1:30 pm

at the Lake Cowichan United Chuch, 10 N. King George Street, Lake Cowichan with Reverend Dianne Astle officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined; if wishing, a remembrance in Ina’s name would

be appreciated to the Cowichan District Hospital Foundation, (701-0399), 3045 Gibbins Road, Duncan, BC, V9L 1E5 to help serve others in her beloved Cowichan Valley.
