It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Gladys Louise Ross. Louise was predeceased by two daughters early in her marriage, and a granddaughter in the early 1980s, mother Gladys Marcellus, father Hjalmar Lundeberg, twin great-granddaughters Natalie & Tyla Ross, great-grandson Corbin Joseph, husband Ken Ross, son Gordon Ross, and daughter Bonnie Nicholson. Louise is survived by her three sons, Darrell (Shannon) Ross, Don (Sherrene) Ross, and Dennis (Trish) Ross, along with 14 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren; brothers Len, Ed, Bruce, Brian, Fred; sisters Heather, Lucille, Janet, Anita, and Marcy.

Louise was born in Matsqui, BC on August 02, 1930. She married her sweetheart Ken Ross in 1949, they moved a few times before settling down in Youbou, BC in the early 1950s to raise their five children. Louise was a very doting wife and mother. For many who had the pleasure to know Louise they know of the magic that she could produce in her kitchen. For years Louise baked bread and made lunches to sell to locals, as well as creating beautiful cakes for many special events. In the 1980s Louise found a new passion in her faith as a Jehovah’s Witness. She made many new friendships which she cherished. The last year of her life was spent joyously at Cerwydden Care Centre in Duncan. She loved her ‘All Inclusive’ lifestyle and especially the friendships she made while living there.

Louise was a kind and gentle soul who owned a special place in the heart of all who had the opportunity to know her. She loved to fill her home with family and friends, host weddings or events, just give her the chance to bring people together. She loved that.

She will be missed for her giggle, her smile and her never ending love of her family.

A Memorial service was held at the First Memorial Funeral Chapel, April 16, 2011 at 2:00 p.m.

She will always be in our hearts and sadly missed.
