Eric passed away at home in Fanny Bay on Saturday, May 14th, knowing he was deeply loved. He was born September 13th, 1932 in Cumberland, B.C, but grew up in Lake Cowichan where he made many special life-long friends, and married Dolores on June 29th, 1957. His working years were in the lumber industry at Mesachie Lake Sawmill and Ladysmith Forest Products, until retirement in 1992. Eric is predeceased by is father, Sigfrid (1965) and his mother Alice (1999). He is in the hearts and memories of his wife Dolores, five children Keith (Judy), Lorn (Mona), Janice (Tyler) Wayne R. and Shirley (Blake), eight grandchildren and one great granddaugher, his sister Donna (Eric) and many wonderful family and friends. Eric enjoyed wilderness camping and boating, playing darts, woodworking and remodelling his home in Fanny Bay. He took great pleasure in hand feeding the birds, and looking after the squirrels. He had many passions, but his favourite times were spent with family and friends. Eric is remembered for being an easy going, generous and kind man.
A Celebration of Eric’s life was held on Saturday, May 21st in Nanaimo, B.C.
