Forrest, Elva Irene (Nee Hazard) passed away peacefully in Duncan BC on March 16, 2020. Elva was born in Moosejaw, Saskatchewan on October 13, 1934, to Harvey and Patty Hazard. She moved to various locations throughout her younger years and eventually landed in Lake Cowichan, BC in 1969. She made a lasting impression on her family, friends, and acquaintances and will be deeply missed by all. She leaves behind three daughters, eight grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren: Barbara (Murray) Lee, Sherrene (Don) Ross, Tara (Wade) Brooks; and Grandchildren: Naomi, Vanessa, Elyssa, Tyrone, Nathan, Carmen, Robin, and Miles. She also leaves behind her dear sister, Lee Mac Avena. Elva fun loving, and kind-hearted and was involved with many community groups throughout her life. Elva was a published poet and had a knack for writing, art, and gardening. Elva loved to have a good laugh and once you got her going the laughing was contagious. She showed her love for her family by always showing up, no event or celebration too small, she was always there. She was also a great cook and baker in her glory days and spent many years catering large events. Elva, Mom, Grandma, and GG will be deeply missed and never forgotten. There will be a small gathering for family only at a later date.
