July 23, 1916 – January 11th, 2010

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Betty on January 11th, 2010 at the age of 93. She passed peacefully at the Chemainus Health Care Centre; siblings, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were by her side during her last few days. Predeceased by her husband Vic of 38 years, her sister Isabel, brothers Allan (Joanne), Bill, George (Aileen) and Freddy.  Betty will join her two sons Bob and Brian who passed away in their earlier years. Survived by her sister Pat (Ray), son Don (Luanne), daughter Marleen (Paul) and, her grandchildren Brad (Denise), Debbie (John), Brent (Helen) and Angela (Paul). And many nieces, nephews and great grandchildren all of whom live nearby, and brought great joy to her in her later years.

Betty was born in Swift Current Saskatchewan, and moved to North Vancouver to take a hair dressing course. She found herself moving to Duncan where she met Vic Palmer, married and had children. Betty was a devoted member of both the IODE and the Kinette Club in Lake Cowichan where Vic and Betty moved to raise their children. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to whoever was blessed to meet her.

A special thank you to all the wonderful nurses and staff  at Chemainus Health Care Centre for providing love and support. Service to follow shortly.
