MARNER, Doug
July 10, 1955 - February 14, 2010
I am sad to report Doug passed away February 14th after suffering a stroke on February 9th.
Doug was born in Peterborough, Ontario and spent his childhood in Edmonton, Alberta.
Doug was Editor of the Lake Cowichan Gazette from August 2000 to his passing. He enjoyed good music, good beer and hiking the trails of the Cowichan River and Valley.
Doug is survived by his common-law spouse, Mary Masters; by his parents, Bob and Barb Marner of Edmonton, Alberta; by his two sisters and brother and their families in Alberta.
Thank you to all who have phoned, stopped in or sent cards and flowers; to the ambulance crew, Jerry and Christine; to Dr. Deepu George and nurses of the ICU and 3rd floor of Cowichan District Hospital.
A wake will be held Sunday, March 7th at the Riverside Inn, Lake Cowichan, BC from 2 - 5 pm.
