Daryle Roger Proulx, a long time resident of the Lake Cowichan area suddenly but peacefully passed away in his home on Wednesday, November 2nd, 2011.

He spent the majority of his career as a teacher at many of the schools around the lake. He will be missed and fondly remembered by the many students whose lives he touched. He often took students under his wing, to coach and help shape them into eager learners and great students.

In 2005 Daryle retired from his career as a teacher and became even busier. He was often found out on his boat enjoying the lake or on the road cruising in his Mustang. Daryle enjoyed many rounds of golf, was a jogging enthusiast, liked to curl and most certainly liked to gear up and play some hockey. He spent his last years living a wonderful retired life that many would be envious of and it was apparent that he had found the love of a great woman.

He leaves behind his loving partner Kathy and her two children Ryan (Janice) and Shane (Ellie), his three children Darren (Sam), Danielle (Tore), Janene (Tom) and his six grandchildren; Maxine, Simon, Marleigh, Lincoln, Graidy and Maeve.

He is survived by his mother Alice, three sisters Jackie (Mike), Anita and Donna and his brother Robert. He will be remembered by his many neices, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins.

A celebration of Daryle’s life will be held at the Cowichan Lake Recreation centre in the multi-purpose room on Saturday, November 12th, 2011 from 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Prostate Cancer Society or a charity of your choice. We would like to thank the community for the outpouring of support and condolences.
