December 25, 1917 ~ July 22, 2010

Betty passed away peacefully July 22, 2010 in

Cowichan District Hospital, Duncan BC.

Betty was born in England December 25, 1917 where she lived through 2 world wars before moving to Canada with her husband and family in 1946. She lived in Ontario before moving to BC in 1947, first to Maple Bay then to Lake Cowichan where she has resided in the same house since. Betty worked at the Post Office for many years until her retirement in 1983. She often commented that she knew everyone in Lake Cowichan by their name and box number. Betty was an organist at St. Aidan’s Anglican church for years and was well liked and a valuable community member. Her friends and family will remember Betty for her quiet humour, honesty and fairness to everyone.

Betty was predeceased by her husband H.W. (Bill) in 1966 and her daughter Barbara in 2005. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter’s Margaret, Susan and Sheila (Denny), her grandchildren Terri, Reid (Sherry), Wade (Megan), Kim, Tom (Tanya) and Andrea. She will also be remembered by her great grandchildren Trisha, Myles, Sterling, Brayden, Averey, Kadyn, Draven and Logan and special family member Bob.

The family would like to thank all the staff at Cowichan District Hospital for their care and compassion and we would also like to extend our thanks to all her friends especially Robin and June and all the members of the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Christopher’s and St. Aidan’s Anglican Church or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. Honoring Betty’s wishes, there will be no formal service.

The three B’s together again, Bill, Betty and Barbara.
