Fortin, Aileen
September 26, 1933- February 3, 2004
Aileen ‘Scottie’ was the life of the party and will be missed greatly by everyone who knew her and anyone who attended one of her famous coilidhs. Born in Scotland, she made Lake Cowichan her home for over 40 years but never lost her thick accent and close ties to her Scottish heritage.
She will be fondly remembered for her hearty laugh, zest for life, her own unique style of singing and her love of family and friends.
Predeceased by husband Lea Fortin. Aileen is
survived by her 2 daughters, Colleen Williams (John), Shauna Lukaitis (Mike) granddaughters, Erin Peters and Reid Lukaitis, 3 step sons , Mike Fortin (Lana), George Fortin (Cathy) and Harvey Fortin and her brother in Scotland, David Fotheringham (Helen); along with many other relatives and close friends in Scotland and Canada.
Donations to a charity of your choice in lieu of flowers would be appreciated. Services will be held at Lake Cowichan Centennial Hall, Tuesday February 10,2004 at 1:00, tea to follow in the lower reception hall.
