The Cowichan Valley Regional District and Island Health have issued a boil water advisory for the Youbou Water system effect immediately.
“All water used for domestic purposes (eg drinking, cooking and brushing teeth) should be brought to a rolling boil for a minimum of one minute,” CVRD spokeswoman Cynthia Lockrey said in a emailed statement.
“This boil water notice will remain in effect until the Vancouver Island Health Authority notifies the CVRD the water is acceptable for domestic use.”
The CVRD is asking anyone with questions or concerns to contact its engineering department at 250-746-2530 during regular daytime business hours.
Information is also available at Vancouver Island Health Authority.
