Temperatures reached a high of 27.7 degrees Celsius, which is the highest on file with Environment Canada between 2008 and 2017.

Last year at this time, the thermometer read a relatively chilly 18.8 C.

Port Alberni also set a weather record on Victoria Day with temperatures reaching a high of 30.3 C, while Victoria Harbour’s 26.4 degrees was the hottest May 22 on file since 1879!
