A travel trailer in the 5400-block of Mulaqw Road on Cowichan Tribes land burned down Monday night but officials say there were no injuries.

North Cowichan Fire Department crews from the South End and Maple Bay halls received the structure fire callout at 10:44 p.m.

Martin Drakeley, fire chief and senior manager of bylaw services, said 23 firefighters from two of North Cowichans four halls attended and worked “to extinguish a fully involved structure.”

Crews were on scene for roughly two hours.

Drakeley confirmed that there were no injuries and no occupants at the time of the call.

“The incident is currently under investigation and no comments can be made as to cause,” he said.
