UPDATE: Shawnigan Lake RCMP find missing man’s body

The body of the man missing since Dec. 7 has been found.

“Although a full determination has yet to be made, RCMP do not believe that criminality was involved in the man’s sudden death,” explained Sgt. Chris Manseau, spokesperson for the BC RCMP. “The BC Coroners Service has been notified, and is also investigating the man’s death.”

Shawnigan Lake RCMP need help looking for Christopher Janak. The 54-year-old man was reported missing early on the morning of Dec. 7.

“Police are very concerned for Christopher Janak’s health and well-being and friends and family report that it is out of character for him to be out of contact for this long,” said BC RCMP spokesperson Sgt. Chris Maneseau in a press release.

Janak is described as a white man, roughly five-foot-eight and weighing about 165 pounds (75 kg).

He’s got brown eyes and grey hair.
