A Salt Spring Island woman is dead and a young man is in custody.

Police were called to a home on Maliview Drive yesterday for an undisclosed incident and the Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit (VIIMCU) now confirms 47-year-old Heather Jones was found dead inside the home.

A 22-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday, but few other specifics have been released except that the incident was reported shortly before noon on Dec. 6 and the victim was known to the suspect.
