RCMP looking for driver who hit cyclist in Duncan

Police want the public’s help to find the person who hit a cyclist Thursday evening in Duncan, then fled the scene of the accident.

On Sept. 15 at around 8:15 p.m., North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP received a report of a cyclist who had been hit in the intersection of Government Street and Canada Avenue.

The RCMP, BC Ambulance paramedics, and Duncan Fire Department responded and the cyclist was transported to hospital by ambulance to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Witnesses reported seeing a dark coloured Dodge pickup truck hit the cyclist before leaving the scene.

Police are requesting anyone who was in the area at the time of the event and witnessed the collision to contact the North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP at 250-748-5522.
