The execution of a search warrant in September 2018 yielded seizures of cash, and substances believed to be fentanyl and crystal meth cocaine. Following that search police sought restraint and forfeiture of the property.

The matter was sent to the British Columbia Civil Forfeiture Office and on to the B.C. Supreme Court where the application was successful. The property, along with $6,425 seized during the investigation, has been forfeited to the province.

“The seizure of property and assets by the BC Office of Civil Forfeiture has a lasting impact on those involved in drug trafficking. BC Civil Forfeiture represents an excellent avenue we will continue to pursue during our drug and property crime investigations,” said North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP S/Sgt. Kurt Bosnell.
