Man airlifted to hospital after collision near Youbou

A 21-year-old Shawnigan Lake man has been released from hospital after receiving treatment for injuries he sustained in a car crash near Youbou on Sunday, May 23.

The Lake Cowichan RCMP, Emergency Health Services and the Youbou and Lake Cowichan volunteer fire departments were called to a single-vehicle collision involving a Toyota Tacoma on North Shore Road near Cowan Road shortly after 5 p.m.

The passenger, a 21-year-old Shawnigan Lake man, was airlifted to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver, a 25-year-old Victoria man, was treated at the scene.
