It’s that magical time of year again, when we spend time with friends and family and participate in traditions that make the season special. One of those traditions that have become a big part of the community is the annual Live Nativity Pageant that is put on by members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
This community tradition began in 1992 and has been running ever since. Many members of the church have made their participation in this even an annual tradition, as well as hundreds of local people made it a family tradition to attend this live reenactment. Although many of the participants have come and gone, the costumes slightly changed or the number of people in the cast, the one thing that has remained the same is the story of which it portrays, that of the birth of our Saviour Jesus Christ.
There is a special feeling that you can feel when you participate or attend this event. It’s wonderful to listen to the beautiful music, hear the live animals and be with the ones close to you as you take a few minutes from what can be a hectic time of year.
You can see this Live Nativity Pageant at 1815 Tzouhalem Rd. Duncan, Dec. 22 and 23 at 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Donations will be gratefully accepted for the local food bank.
