Ashley Bond has two dreams. One is to see school children have the supplies they need to be successful at school. The other is to meet Ellen DeGeneres.

Before school started, Bond organized a back-to-school fundraiser at work that enabled her to fill backpacks for kids in need in the Cowichan Valley. She was able to deliver 16 brand new back packs, chock full of school supplies and every day grooming essentials to two local schools where students needed them most.

It turns out more than just the recipients noticed her efforts.

“That same week Ellen started this Cheerios campaign so I decided to enter,” Bond explained. “Never did I think it would get a second glance or even an email back, but it did!”

Thus far Bond’s entry in the Ellen & Cheerios Million Actions of Good mission has received more than 3,000 likes, putting her good deed in the Top 12.

“Thanks for preparing future generations for success, Ashley!” says the synopsis on ellentube.com site.

Bond hopes to get more likes in the hope of catching the television star’s eye.

“This would be an amazing opportunity to not only meet Ellen but to do more good,” Bond said. To vote for Ashley visit https://www.ellentube.com/cheerios/community/ashleys-back-to-school-project.html
