Decked out with any and all types of fitness equipment — both state of the art machines, and basic free weights — the fitness centre at Cowichan Lake Sports Arena is now officially open for business.

The 1,305-square-foot facility now boasts a rowing machine, treadmills, recumbent bikes, elliptical trainers and more, along with free weights, medicine balls, kettlebells, and mats.

“It was quite well attended,” noted Denise Williams, manager of Cowichan Lake Recreation. “It seems as though a lot of people are excited that the fitness centre is finally open. We’ve had a number of people come through and check it out and have had a number of folks sign up for passes as well.”

The new gym is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. For membership information, visit: https://www.cvrd.ca/3509/Fitness-Centre-at-CLSA to learn more.
