It’s a happy ending to last week’s story about 17 stolen lawn ornaments that were found at Lake Cowichan’s roundabout, at King George Street, Sunday, August 7.

After finding a picture of the lawn ornaments in the Gazette, their rightful owner dropped by the Lake Cowichan RCMP Detachment to pick them up.

“A grandmother made them for her granddaughter,” Lake Cowichan RCMP Cpl. Warren Potter said. “They were hand-made and had a lot of sentimental value to them.”

“It’s really nice when you can return someone’s property.”

The lawn ornaments included, but were not limited to, all of Disney movies’ dwarfs, from the movie Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Not all of the ornaments have been re-claimed.

Residents still missing lawn ornaments are encouraged to call the Lake Cowichan RCMP at 250-749-6668.
