A GoFundMe account has been set up for the family of the 35-year-old woman who lost her life in a tragic accident on Monday, July 5 in Duncan.
Identified on Facebook by her sister Jessi, Hope Willford was a loving mother to two children: Aiden, 13, and Elizabeth, 12, and wife of 15 years to husband Jordan.
She was also a sister, daughter, auntie, cousin, granddaughter, niece and friend.
“My heart aches for all who knew and loved her,” Jessi wrote in a Facebook post she asked for others to share. “Hope had a heart of gold and was so kind. She was such a beautiful soul inside and out and will be dearly missed.”
Thus far there have been two fundraisers set up for Willford’s family.
Jessi has set up an account for funeral expenses and savings for the children and donations can be made via e-transfer to: firstname.lastname@example.org
Alternatively, a GoFundMe campaign has been set up by a friend and thus far more than $7,200 of the $10,000 goal has been raised.

“After reaching out to Hope’s family I’m setting up a GoFundMe to help them while they try and recover from their loss,” wrote Dawn Rorick on the fundraiser page. “So Jordan can take time with his family, and doesn’t have to worry about work and money. Everyone is still in shock, and this will help relieve the stress and a little bit of the worry.”
Willford had been on her way to work the morning of July 5 when she was struck by a commercial vehicle along the Trans Canada Highway near Allenby Road. She died at the scene.
“Hug your family tight, and tell your loved ones that they are loved,” Jessi said. “Our time here is short and should not be taken for granted.”
