Duncan residents have returned five incumbent councillors to their seats, along with one newcomer.

There were nine candidates for six seats, with incumbent Mayor Michelle Staples winning by acclamation.

Polls are reporting that the winners are Garry Bruce, Mike McKinlay, Carol Newington, Tom Duncan, Jenni Capps, and Stacy Middlemiss.

This makes the only new councillor McKinlay, who was a longtime fire chief in the city.

Incumbent Bob Brooke, Mark Anderson and Joe Sawchuk also ran in the election.
