Power was out for less than an hour on Aug. 2 to approximately 2,300 residences in the Berkey’s Corner area.

BC Hydro spokesman Ted Olynyk said a tree had come down across power lines at about 10:25 a.m., knocking out power in areas of Somenos Road and Cowichan Lakes Road.

Olynyk said BC Power crews had the power restored at 11:18 a.m.

“We remind the public to stay back 10 metres from any downed power lines,” he said.
