Dog licences in the Cowichan Valley Regional District for 2021 are now available.

The licences are $25 until Jan. 31, 2021, but rise to $35 as of Feb. 1 for the rest of the year.

Licences for kennels are $175 until Jan. 31, and go up to $200 as of Feb. 1.

Dog licensing fees are used to offset the cost of animal control services, including patrols and investigating complaints; to pay for the maintenance and supplies at dog parks, including waste disposal bags; to identify a lost pet and dog care at impounds, including medical attention if needed.

Dog licences and tags are available to residents of the CVRD’s electoral areas at the CVRD head office in Duncan, Coastal Animal Control Services, Kerry Park Recreational Centre, Shawnigan Lake Community Centre, Cowichan Lake Recreation Centre, Frank Jameson Community Centre, Town of Ladysmith’s town hall, Laughing Llama, Cobble Hill Market, Pier 66, and Buckerfield’s.
