The Downtown Duncan Business Improvement Area asked those running for a seat on Duncan city council on Oct. 15 three questions.
The DDBIA has now posted their answers to its website.
The same three questions were issued by email to all nine candidates and they were asked to respond in 200 words or less to each question.
All nine candidates responded to the DDBIA’s questions.
The questions focused on the candidates’ views on supporting core funding to mitigate Main Street issues (policing, street lighting, sanitation, more bylaw enforcement and anti-graffiti programs); beautification to improve the city’s alleys, streets, sidewalks, green spaces and features; and the candidates’ personal and professional life achievements that demonstrate their vision to foster a unique, diverse and vibrant downtown business community.
“The DDBIA recognizes the important partnership between our elected officials, our BIA and our downtown business members,” a statement from the association said.
“We wish to thank each and every candidate standing for public office and appreciate the intended dedication to bettering downtown Duncan for all our citizens and visitors.”
