Things are going well at the Cowichan Lake Education Centre, manager Dalton Smith said last week.

“It’s been quite good,” he said, of bookings thus far this year.

Last weekend saw a group of spinners and weavers flood the education centre, spinning wool in an old-fashioned manner.

Their booking will bring in about $8,000 to the education centre, Smith said.

This comes after a five-day visit by the Open Door Spiritual Society earlier in the week.

During his Tuesday, February 15 meeting with the Town of Lake Cowichan’s elected officials, Smith will continue budget discussions that began last month.

The meeting will take place after the 5 p.m. Finance and Administration Meeting, and will begin at 6 p.m. at the Municipal Hall.

As always, the meeting is open to the public.
