Duncan’s own Finlay Klippenstein was named the Kerry Park Islanders’s Most Valuable Player at their team awards banquet at the end of March.
In his first year as a forward with the Isles, Klippenstein had 21 goals and 36 assists for 57 points through 40 regular season games.
Rookie of the year went to Matson Waring, while Most Improved was Benjamin Stocks.
Jack Strom was named the Islanders’s Most Dedicated player and Ryder Gregga, who has stood on his head between the pipes throughout the playoffs, was named the team’s Top Goaltender.
Top forward was Jacob Wingfield while the top defender honours were awarded to Nathan Da Silva.
Brothers Nick and Noah Hovde received the Coach’s Choice award for their contributions to the team while Most Inspirational was Elijah Pearse.

Duncan product Kal Nagy, who finished the 2023-24 season with the Victoria Cougars after playing parts of three seasons with the Campbell River Storm, has been awarded the VIJHL’s Jamie Robertson Trophy for Sportsmanship and Ability.
Nagy’s rights were held by the Kerry Park Islanders for a short time in 2020. Both Nagy and Klippenstain played for the peewee Cowichan Capitals that earned bronze at the provincial Tier 2 championships back in 2016.
