With their banners secured from the rafters at their home rink, the 2023-24 Kerry Park Islanders U13 Tier 3 team can now boast for generations that they're champions.
The Isles earned their title following a 4-1 win over Trail in the gold medal game on March 22 in Aldergrove.
The provincial champion Kerry Park Islanders U13 Tier 3 team includes: Riley Arthurs, Luke Aitken-Boersen (A), Lennox Gill, James Holloway (A), Qais Rasul-Jankovics, Torin Kozma, Nathan MacDonald (A), Owen McFadden, Ben McKamey, Marcus Olsson, Myles Philp, Wade Sangara, Crew Shields, Jesse Spelman, Cole Van Oene (C), and Mason Wallace. The team is coached by head coach Darren Van Oene, and assistant coaches Steve MacDonald, Jason Taron, Josh McKamey and Brendyn Van Oene, with manager Nate Boersen.
U13 hockey is back for a new season and organizers are gearing up for the Kerry Park U13A Thanksgiving Shootout, which runs Oct. 12-14 at Kerry Park Arena and Shawnigan Lake School's Charlie Purdy Arena.
