Slip into Saturday with the soul and bluesy sounds of Juno nominee and three time Canadian Blues Female Vocalist Of the Year winner Miss Emily (Emily Fennell), a Prince Edward County singer, as she makes a stop at the Duncan Showroom on March 22 while on her West Coast tour.
Based out of Kingston, Ont. Miss Emily has been a full-time singer/songwriter for more than 21 years and over the span of her music career has recorded six studio albums, been nominated for a Blues Album of the Year Juno and has even been recognized by the Maple Blues Awards as a three-time Female Artist and New Artist of the year. She has worked tirelessly for dozens of charitable organizations and has toured Canada, the U.S., the U.K. and Europe. Her new album, which was produced by Colin Linden, titled The Medicine is slated for release later this year. Her Island tour will feature a batch of new music she wrote and recorded for her new album.
For those who can't make it to the Showroom and want to take the trip or live in other parts of the island Miss Emily will also be making stops at Hermann’s Jazz Club in Victoria on March 21 and from there she makes stops at The Queen's in Nanaimo on March 23 which will feature the talents of Nanaimo-based musicians Graham Shonwise on bass, Phil Wipper on drums and Kelly Fawcett on guitar.
Miss Emily then moves on to Chilliwack's Bozzini’s on March 24, Gabriola Island's Gabriola Golf Club on March 27, completing her tour on March 28 at White Rock's Blue Frog Studios.
