PERHAPS WE SHOULD CALL IT A SIGNING BONUS
The SNC Lavalin thing happened in Libya many years ago under Harper’s rule. But he would not deal with it.
Canada and most countries have a DPA ( deferred prosecution agreement ) to deal with very large companies so as not to take whole companies down but to let the guilty parties face the charges and penalty’s. SNC had 52,435 employees, offices in 50 countries and projects in 160 countries that would of been shut down.
Some said others would have filled the jobs; not so an engineered job must go through a whole new set of engineers and proposals plus a work force.
In Libya and many countries a bribe is part of getting a contract but here we don’t do that, we have signing bonuses, big difference, you think?
