Advance polls open Friday, free transit in Cowichan on election day

Election day is looming but you don’t have to wait until then to cast your ballot.

While, Monday, Oct. 21 is the official day, opportunities for advance voting take place beginning Friday, Oct. 11 and continues daily through Monday, Oct. 14.

Advance polling station locations can be found on your voter registration card or visit www.elections.ca and plug in your postal code to learn which poll you should attend.

Advance polls are open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The polls will be open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Oct. 21.

Need a lift to your polling station? Hop on the bus! It won’t cost you anything on election day. Regular fares still apply on advance voting days but BC Transit and the Cowichan Valley Regional District have partnered to offer the service for those within the regional district on Oct. 21. Buses, including handyDART service, will be free on all routes save for the commuter routes (44 Victoria/Duncan, 66 Duncan Commuter, and 99 Shawnigan Lake Commuter).
