Pat Fischer is a renowned British Columbian artist whose paintings have won many awards and hang in collections in the UK, Australia and New Zealand, Malaysia, and many parts of Canada and the U.S., and this April the place to see her work is right here in the Cowichan Valley

In 2000, Fischer was awarded the Perpetual Arts Trophy by the City of Duncan. The award was presented in recognition of her many years of active participation and contribution to the arts and the community.

Fischer served as a director of the Cowichan Valley Arts Council for seven years. Fischer is past president of Cherry Point Artists, Maple Bay Painters, Shawnigan Art Group and was a member of the Maui Watercolour Association.

Fischer moved to Vancouver Island more than 26 years ago, and settled in Maple Bay. As well as exhibiting her paintings, she taught art for 20 years in oil, acrylic, watercolour and collage. She has conducted many workshops on Vancouver Island, the Gulf Islands and California.

Fischer is a beloved member of Cherry Point Artists, and this year, to honour her lifetime commitment to art, Cherry Point Artists will have a special display of her paintings at the Cherry Point Art Show, April 22 and 23 at St. Peter’s Church, Duncan.
